🔗 Share this article Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients Prosecutors have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care. The Serious Charges Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021. One senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.” Scope of the Investigation The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th. Breakdown of Charges Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of assault by penetration. 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
