This online marketplace has revised its size classifications for women's and children's clothes without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to review their products and manually change the size when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Manual Updates Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Service Background The app has more than 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
